Healing the body naturally…
Like a cut finger, the body intuitively knows what to do and will work immediately with various cellular processes to seal and heal the site of injury. Compromised health conditions work in the same way. When the body is compromised and has what is labelled a `disease’ or `illness’, the body will have a reduced capacity to function however, will continue to work toward achieving balance as best it can.
If however, the body is significantly out of balance and there are reduced health promoting factors in the body to overcome the disease or imbalance on it’s own, additional treatment and attention is required.
Clinical and laboratory research has shown the practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to be effective for the treatment of a range of illness and disease. The history of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine dates back between 3,000 to 5,000 years, reflecting an enormous body of clinical practice wisdom to treat the body effectively. This complete body of medicine works by treating the root cause of the problem. Chinese medicine has maintained a continued practice based on its' ability to understand the body as a whole, appreciating the inter-connectedness of all organs and systems to treat disease.
Their clinical experience has taught them that by not solely relying on Chinese medicine but integrating both Chinese and Western medicine, including functional and nutritional medicine and further using food in a medicinal way to heal and support the body, this can be highly effective in addressing various modern disease patterns. High consumption of processed foods, overuse of antibiotics, pharmaceutical drugs and increased stress in our lives compromise the body at large, compromise the immune system and lead to a range of imbalances and disharmony in the body.
