What can acupuncture help with when undergoing cancer treatment?
At Spring Health, we work closely with local oncologists in Ballarat and surrounding areas to provide personalised services to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy and improve patients quality of life. Some patients may experience a number of side effects from treatment whilst others may experience one or two. Acupuncture works on the whole body to alleviate side effects from treatment. When not to have acupuncture when undergoing cancer treatment?
Acupuncture is not advised if a patient has lymphodema or patients are immunocompromised.
Can nutritional & Chinese herbal medicine’s support my body following cancer treatment?
Yes, however it depends on your type of cancer. Chinese herbal medicines are not prescribed for patients with ER-positive breast cancer.
Nutritional medicines & Chinese herbal medicines can be very useful to restore the digestive system following cancer treatment. If there are specific health concerns following your cancer treatment, Chinese herbal medicines can provide treatment for specific conditions such as chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy.
